“I explore imagery and meditation through a kaleidoscope of color and floral illusions.

I have recently been torn between floral designs and optical illusions.  By mixing them, I’m giving the viewer a balance of something beautiful and something sickening.

My inspiration through my process has been Bruce Riley, whose paintings of resin and ink are based on his inability to control his medium.  Similarly,  I created these works digitally, focusing on pattern and color, allowing myself to be lost in the process of making; playing with psychedelic swirls of color, layering uplifting colors with somber imagery. This is done by digitally creating a background and layering a bold floral pattern to reinforce the contrast.  I want the viewer to be pulled in and become lost in thought, creating an almost mediative state”
