A solo exhibition of artwork by BFA art student Youssef Sheroubi, a painter from the Arkansas State University Department of Art + Design
“The conceptual background of my work is inspired by the constant displacement I have experienced in my life. Exposure to different cultures has allowed me to indulge in the differences and similarities of the human experience that are shared through the smallest of details. This body of work began as a response to the chaos of current events and how isolative tendencies allowed me to truly understand myself. In my work, I want to visualize a space that lacks societal standards and human generated labels, a space which allows figurative and geometric structures to express their transfigured qualities and reflect their psychological state.”
