Many remember carving blocks in school-carefully scratching away at a rubbery surface, rolling on the ink and peeling the paper back to reveal your image. In this beginner class, we will learn the basics of lino cut using rubber blocks that are easier to carve and easier to print with. June will guide you step by step through designing your own block, transferring, carving, inking and finally printing your piece. No prior experience is needed, just a willingness to follow directions and get your hands a little inky.
Bring an idea of what you want to carve, no larger than 4x6 inches
Due to the tools used in the course, this class is not recommended for children under 16
Size limited to 25 (prefer <20)
Printing ink will be used—please wear clothing you don’t mind getting ink on.
