EXHIBITION PROSPECTUS

Eligibility: Open to all students in grades 9 – 12 in Northeast Arkansas and surrounding regions. Students may gather inspiration from any work featured in any gallery or museum. This includes art, history, science, natural history, maritime, military, and children's museums. Students must select a work which particularly inspires them. The name, title, and exhibition location of the work which inspired you must be included with your submission. Students will create an artwork responding to their selected work with the medium(s) of their choice. Each submission must include a written statement of 100-150 words detailing the concept of the work they create.

Stipend Eligibility: $300 stipends are available to any instructor bringing their art class to tour with Bradbury Art Museum (multiple instructors from one school are permitted, but only one stipend is available per instructor).

Every tour starts at 9:00AM and ends at 1:00PM. This includes a BAM Tour, an activity BAM’s maker space BAM Studio, lunch in Acansa Dining Hall in the Reng Student Union, and an Art Immersion activity with the Art + Design program. Please use the booking link to schedule your tour:

These stipends are designed to aid in the acquisition of art-making materials. Bradbury Art Museum can either provide a check sent to your school for direct spending, or BAM can purchase your materials directly with an instructor provided Blick’s Wish List. Instructions on how to create a Blick’s Wish List can be found here.

Arkansas State University requires Bradbury Art Museum to have instructors to fill out a vendor form to receive a stipend check. The W-2 submitted within this form determines where your stipend check is shipped. If you have not completed one previously, please use the vendor form link:

Works Accepted: Results of the selection process will be emailed to all teachers on Monday, October 12th. Accepted works will need to be brought to BAM between October 12th and October 16th, from 9:00AM-5:00PM.

Please notify BAM staff before drop-off to ensure someone is available to receive your artwork.

Paper works can be framed by BAM, but MUST be matted to fit the following dimensions:

  • 16x20 in

  • 18x24 in

  • 20x24 in

  • 24x32 in

  • 24x24 in

Each piece MUST be ready to display. This includes hardware such as hinges, wires, hooks, or specialty frames not included in the sizes listed above. If works do not arrive ready we will do our best to accommodate their needs, but we cannot guarantee their inclusion into the exhibition.

Images: Each artist may submit one artwork represented in a digital format (jpeg preferred) with a resolution no less than 300 dpi and the longest side of the image measuring no less than 2000px. By entering this exhibition each artist grants consent for the use of submitted images for reproduction for publicity and for educational purposes.

Awards: Artworks ranked within the top percentiles are considered for awards. Awards will be announced at the opening reception on October 22nd at 6:00PM.
