From Abstraction to Minimalism: Selections from the Arkansas Arts Center Foundation Collection
June 2 - July 25, 2004
The exhibition revealed the impressive range of non-representational art found in the Arkansas Arts Center Foundation Collection. Featured were 60 works on paper by 47 artists.
Included were nationally and internationally known artists such as Arthur Dove, David Smith, Seymour Lipton, Buzz Spector, Elizabeth Murray and many others. These artists explore the elements of art, such as line, shape and color, creating “art for art’s sake” in its purest form. The works in this exhibit were created from 1940 through 1998 representing movements such as cubism, abstract expressionism and minimalism.
