Glimpse: Selected Works from the
Museum of Contemporary Photography,
Columbia College Chicago
September 8 - October 2, 2005
This exhibition featured a selection of work from the museum’s impressive collection, with a focus on photographs created in the last two decades. Included were sixty five pieces by twenty four artists, representing a broad spectrum of techniques and styles. Among the artists in the exhibition were William Wegman, Irving Penn, Richard Misrach, Jim Dine, Sandy Skoglund, Joel Meyerwitz and Joel-Peter Witkin.
The Museum of Contemporary Photography is an innovative forum for the collection, creation, and examination of contemporary imagemaking through traditional and digital camera processes. Founded by Columbia College Chicago in 1984 as the successor to the Chicago Center for Contemporary Photography, the museum collaborates with artists, photographers, communities, and institutions locally, nationally, and internationally.
