Impossible Sites by artist Ayam Yaldo and the series En Medio de la Nostalgia by artist Chantal Lesley explore presence in impossible spaces: places which have been destroyed, objects which have been stolen and looted, liminal spaces between cultural identities which only exist in the mind.
BAM invites you to connect to their personal explorations by submitting photographs of sites where you cannot or can no longer physically be—places representing a sense of loss, nostalgia, or absence. Then, visit BAM during Contemporary Classic, Overture, and Meaningful Disruption to ‘visit’ both your own and your community’s impossible sites.
