INSPIRED: 2019
LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL EXHIBITION

December 3 - December 13, 2019

Inspired continues to expand, now offering the opportunity to freshmen and extending invitations to schools within Clay, Craighead, Cross, Greene, Independence, Jackson, Lawrence, Mississippi, Poinsett, Randolph and Sharp counties.

Throughout the months of September and October 2019, local high school students toured exhibitions at BAM. Students were asked to submit a piece inspired by the work seen during their visit. In addition to the artwork, students wrote artist statements; these two components were submitted to be considered for this competitive exhibition. More than 200 students participated in the fall tours.

The juror for Inspired 2019 was local artist Dustyn Bork, established artist and current Associate Professor of Art at Lyon College. In conjunction with Inspired, a few selected works by Dustyn Bork were also shown in Kays Gallery in an exhibition titled Supports.
This annual event is open to all local high school students in the counties listed above and is coordinated through BAM’s public outreach program.

BAM would like to thank all of the schools, art teachers and especially the students that participated in this project.

In its fifth year, Inspired featured the work of 30 young artists, who are listed below.
