New American Painting: Southern Style

September 4 - October 5, 2003

Like most contemporary artists, the eight painters in this exhibition face the continual expectation of the new, the demand to create original works of art that do not too closely reference the work of others. All of these artists have approached this difficult task by realizing the power of the known and remind us that what is right in front of our eyes can be of great interest or beauty, if we but bother to take the time to look.

Included in the exhibition were Christin Ciaccio, Jeff Conefry, Hamlett Dobbins, Don Estes, Jonathan Fenske, Scott Ingram, Tad Lauritzen Wright and Barbara Schreiber.
