INSPIRED: 2018
LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL EXHIBITION

November 27 - December 7, 2018

Inspired has expanded to include not only Craighead, but its five surrounding counties. Schools from Newport, Nettleton, Bay, Walnut Ridge, Harrisburg, Valley View, Jonesboro, Blytheville, Marked Tree, and Brookland were involved.

Throughout the months of September and October 2018, local high school students toured either the exhibition Body [Parts] or Eclectic. Students were asked to submit a piece inspired by the work seen during their visit to the museum. In addition to the artwork, students wrote artist statements; these two components were submitted to be considered for this competitive exhibition. More than 200 students participated in the fall tours.

Chucki Bradbury of Little Rock, Arkansas, who is BAM’s namesake, served as the juror of the exhibition. She reviewed all submitted works of art and written statements to select which pieces would be included in the show.

This annual event is open to all local high school students in the counties listed above and is coordinated through BAM’s public outreach program.

BAM would like to thank all of the schools, art teachers and especially the students that participated in this project.

In its fourth year, Inspired featured the work of 48 young artists, who are listed below.
